I think this is going to become my photography related blog. I just don't have the time to make this blog what I wanted it to be. I don't want to get rid of it either though. I think this is just going to be a place where I post some pics, maybe link up some tutorials, occasionally write something and add youtube videos.
I wanted so much more, but it just doesn't look like its going to happen. Things will slowly start to change around here. To the few people that follow this blog, thanks for following and hope you all stick around for the changes.
I'm going to try and post a few images a week, and maybe some stuff from other people as well. Enjoy.
Welcome to My Amateur Photo. I created this blog as a way to document my progress as an amateur photographer and also help others who may have an interest in this hobby. The blog covers tutorials, tips, tricks, and various resources for taking and processing digital images using an SLR camera.
Topics include, Gimp 2.8, Darktable, tutorials, and tips on taking great images and using your DSLR camera.

Ansel Adams - One Of My Favorites
One of my favorite photographers has to be Ansel Adams. I love the way he makes some scenes look almost other worldly. I'm also such a big fan of black and white. Ansel was the master of outdoor black and white photography !
If you would like to learn more about Ansel Adams you can click here for a wiki.
Here's another great article about him written by the Sierra Club.
If you would like to check out some of Ansel Adams work, or if your not familiar with him, I found a great library of his various works hosted in the National Archives. You can see some of this photography here.
